1 Here's the deal, God is love.
The Bible tells us that God so loved the world that He sent His only Son that whoever would believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Who is God? Think about it:
God is our creator. As individuals, we are body, soul, and spirit-3 parts made into one. The Heavenly Father is a Soul, Jesus is the Body, and the Holy Spirit is of course, the Spirit. But He is still ONE God. And we are created in His image. This is very important to note because many religions try to get rid of either the Holy Spirit or Jesus because they cannot see how God operates in three persons. But we are created in God's image and we have 3 parts too, but we cannot operate in the perfect magnitude of God who can do anything.
"And God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over ..."-Gen. 1:26 KJV
"So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them." - Gen 1:27 KJV
"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord." - 1Thess 5:23 KJV
How amazing is that?!
2 Eternal life? You might say,
"Why do I need to be saved to have eternal life?"
The answer is in His love.
First, everything good comes from God. (Here is a list: Love, light, color, beautiful scents, joy, help and support, dancing, breathing, strength, laughter, joy, peace, skill... I hope you get the idea.)
So here is the problem: People are naturally selfish, they get jealous, easily offended, impatient, they steal, they manipulate, and hate, or kill. . .
God does not like it when people hurt eachother.
But He gives them a choice to choose to love through Him and have eternal life or choose not to know Him and have eternal death. This is why He sent Jesus so that you would have a Door to enter into to receive His Holy Spirit.
3 Jesus came to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins once and for all.
The Old Testament revealed to us that we could never be good by our own efforts, therefore, people had to offer sacrifices to pay for the sins they committed. In the New Testament, Jesus came to give hope so that we truly could be perfect through communion with God. Jesus sacrificed Himself for us but He rose again on the third day to defeat death and to give us the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the proof that everything He said and did is true.
He commanded us saying,
"Love God with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul, and all your strength."
Then He said,
"Love your neighbor as you would love yourself [and as I have loved you]."
The Word of God, found in the Holy Bible, even goes on to say that loving our neighbor completes both commands together. (Romans 13:8)
How do we do this? We cannot do this except by the Holy Spirit teaching us through the word of God. He helps us to know what truth is, what holy is, and what good is. He helps us down to the minute details.
4 When people are obedient to these commands--especially sharing the truth about the Gospel--they often get persecuted, laughed at, stomped upon, misjudged, used, manipulated, rejected...
This is the long-suffering that Jesus went through as well. When you follow Jesus' example, it is called "Taking up your cross."
5 You might say,
"Why should I suffer?"
"For it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake..."-Philippians 1:29 NKJV
Every day, people are dying without the knowledge of Jesus being our Savior. God desires for everyone to be saved and to know Him personally. It is the job of the believer, who has been born-again and has experienced the truth and gift of God, to share this with people because we will stand before Him and He will ask us, "What did you do with what you have been given?" He will judge our heart to see if we have truly been repentant and He will judge whether we were striving to share the Gospel with others so that they would believe and be saved. Of course, suffering comes when people do not believe you.
Christianity is not just about suffering, there are sooo many great things about choosing God because of His plans for you.
6 Everyone needs to be saved from the evil and unseen forces of hell in the world.
The Bible tells us not to allow the devil to enter us (the body is a temple specifically created for the Holy Spirit to dwell in) but the devil only comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy because he hates your soul. (You were created in God's image.) In fact, the devil is deceiving and destroying people every day.
When you receive Jesus Christ, He begins to help you to see yourself and to show the world what His love is and what truth is. You will have a relationship with God and get rewarded greatly with eternal life, yet others choose eternal death separated from everything good. You cannot decide what "good" is because your definition of "good" is different from the next person's definition. You need God to define what is GOOD and what is TRUTH and what is HOLY. He provided this through Jesus who is Lord.
7 If you are willing to see your selfish ways toward God and others by accepting Jesus Christ into your life, you will begin to recognize your sins. So, you turn away from your sins and confess to the Lord that you choose Him rather than choosing the enemy of darkness.
Then, you deny your self (i.e. your selfish old ways, a.k.a. the flesh..) and do what Jesus said. Follow Him and you will receive His Holy Spirit who helps you to know the magnitude of His love and He gives you power through Him.
"For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father."-Ephesians 2:18 NKJV
You must also be baptised in water which is an act of repentance before the Lord.
"When the Holy Spirit comes, He will guide you into all truth." He is REAL, He is LIVING, and He does not leave you comfortless.
So will you choose to love and accept God's perfect will for you today?
Will you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior?
We believe in Father God through our Savior Jesus Christ, His Son, who through Jesus' death and resurrection, if we repent and believe, erases our sin, has given us the gift of His Holy Spirit to be with us and help us as we deny ourselves, and offers us everlasting life.
We believe that all must repent and turn away from sin, believe in their heart on the Lord Jesus Christ and confess with their mouth, and that they must be born of water and of the Spirit in order to be saved. The Lord takes you right where you are no matter how bad it is, He already knows.
We believe the definition of a believer as defined in the Holy Bible manifesting the Spiritual gifts given unto us by the grace and promises of God after we have received His fire baptism whereby He dwells in us helping us to walk in His Spirit becoming conquerers over principalities, powers, and rulers of darkness in this world because we live in a fallen world where without Christ, our destiny is ETERNAL death.
We believe that God is a God of order and expects us to do things decently and in order, to walk in the Spirit, to endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, and to convince, rebuke, and exhort, but most of all have CHARITY among ourselves.
We believe that our own acts of kindness cannot save us but that we are saved by grace, but we must still work out our salvation with fear and trembling, and that we should not be deceived by philosophies and traditions of men.
We believe in the kingdom of God within us and so therefore we are called to be transformed into His image and shine a light into this dark world. We do this through His words, purposeful actions, and living a holy life following Christ as Lord in order to be a worthy example of love and influence for the gospel truth. The Holy Spirit prepares us for every good work which saves souls so that people will desire to choose eternal life and that they will know the power of God and believe.
We believe in having faith over every circumstance holding fast our confidence till the end and that faith, if it does not have works, it is dead.
We believe every Word of the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God which was given to us as a manual for living meant to be studied day and night for preparing for the Lord's return. We believe the gospel must be preached with the power and the authority of the Holy Spirit.
